Technical Appendix: Tabernacles, Jacob, Exile, and Return

These tables support The Feast of Tabernacles: Jacob, Exile, and Return. The current Unified Chronology knowledge catalog is the final source of record; File 58 controls the argument.

The principal dates are normal Masoretic Text (MT) regular chronology: 430 years in Egypt, no optional +60 Terah and no inserted second Cainan. They are not Rounded or cumulative coordinates. Same-side BC spans use subtraction. Civil BC–AD spans use BC + AD − 1. Seasonal coordinates are marked n for Nisan and t for Tishri.

A. Calendar and corpus settings

The primary count covers Tishri 1–22 in Numbers 28–29. The declared 364-day fixed-week setting places Tishri 1 on Wednesday and Sabbaths on days 4, 11, and 18. It therefore adds six Sabbath lambs to forty-four daily lambs. The complete seven-block ledger is in the main article.

Calendar and ritual comparison settings
Setting Sabbath additions Separate Leviticus 16 animals Total
Primary Numbers-only fixed-week setting 6 0 280
Four-Sabbath comparison 8 0 282
Primary setting plus complete Leviticus 16 ledger 6 5 285
Four-Sabbath setting plus complete Leviticus 16 ledger 8 5 287

The five Leviticus 16 animals are one bull, two rams, and two goats. One goat remains alive for removal into the wilderness; counting only slaughtered animals would add four, not five. The full ritual ledger and its slaughtered subset must therefore be distinguished. These overlays do not alter the primary Numbers-only count. A four-Sabbath window is a comparison setting, not a demonstrated frequency claim about lunar years.

The calendar forms 1,274 = 3½ × 364 and 1,260 = 3½ × 360 differ by fourteen. They are parallel schematic forms. This study does not shorten one historical interval by fourteen to force the other. The 336-day priestly-service ledger is a third, distinct framework.

B. The seven festival days

These are festival additions only. The daily and Sabbath offerings are separate rows in the complete ledger.

Seven festival days and scaled totals
Tishri day Bulls Rams Lambs Goat Festival total Total × 7
15 13 2 14 1 30 210
16 12 2 14 1 29 203
17 11 2 14 1 28 196
18 10 2 14 1 27 189
19 9 2 14 1 26 182
20 8 2 14 1 25 175
21 7 2 14 1 24 168
Total 70 14 98 7 189 1,323

Without goats: 70 + 14 + 98 = 182, and 182 × 7 = 1,274. Goats: 7 × 7 = 49. The two parts total 1,323.

At the same scale, the first six days’ bulls give 63 × 7 = 441; the final day’s seven bulls give 7 × 7 = 49. Thus the day-level bull partition is 441 + 49 = 490. It should not be described as 483 + 7 unless the grouping changes to individual bulls rather than festival days.

C. Jacob’s dates and the Nisan/Tishri distinction

Normal MT Jacob coordinates
Normal MT event BC coordinate
Jacob’s birth 2006
Bethel / departure for Haran 1929
Return from Haran 1909
Entry into Egypt 1876
Death 1859
Jacob-to-restoration spans
Comparison Calculation Span
Departure → exile horizon 1929 − 606 1,323
Exile horizon → return 606 − 536 70
Haran return → Jerusalem-fall year label 1909 − 586 1,323
Jerusalem-fall label → Temple horizon 586 − 516 70
Death → return 1859 − 536 1,323
Exact Nisan split, first part 1859n − 585n 1,274
Exact Nisan split, second part 585n − 536n 49

The relevant phase fields are 586t/585n and 537t/536n. Their same-phase differences are 586t − 537t = 49 and 585n − 536n = 49. The labels are seasonal coordinates within the repository’s framework, not uncertainty ranges or two separate Jerusalem destructions. Using 1859 − 586 would give 1,273, so that unsuffixed subtraction cannot replace the exact Nisan row.

The bare BC-label comparisons and the phase-resolved route are displayed separately. No new 1860t/1859n Jacob-death pairing is introduced. These dates define the selected chronology used for the numerical comparisons; they do not imply universal agreement among historical reconstructions.

D. Forward and reverse festival sequences

Both runs start at 1859 BC. Each festival-day total is multiplied by seven and treated as a chronological comparison unit. Intermediate coordinates are calculations; this table assigns no new events to unlabeled landings.

Forward festival sequence from 1859 BC
Forward block Years added Running span BC coordinate
Day 15 210 210 1649
Day 16 203 413 1446: Exodus
Day 17 196 609 1250
Day 18 189 798 1061
Day 19 182 980 879
Day 20 175 1,155 704
Day 21 168 1,323 536: return horizon
Eighth-day assembly 70 1,393 466
Reverse festival sequence from 1859 BC
Reverse block Years added Running span BC coordinate
Eighth-day assembly 70 70 1789
Day 21 168 238 1621
Day 20 175 413 1446: Exodus
Day 19 182 595 1264
Day 18 189 784 1075
Day 17 196 980 879
Day 16 203 1,183 676
Day 15 210 1,393 466

The reverse run changes the order of these local blocks. It is neither the formal BC–AD Mirror nor digit reversal. Its exact arithmetic does not independently establish the intended composition of the offering list.

E. Esau’s gift: two partitions of one list

The cited BSB text of Genesis 32:14–15 supplies these printed numbers. Purity classification follows Leviticus 11.

Esau gift: printed animal numbers
Printed row Number Purity category Sex category
Female goats 200 Clean Female
Male goats 20 Clean Male
Ewes 200 Clean Female
Rams 20 Clean Male
Milking camels 30 Unclean Female
Cows 40 Clean Female
Bulls 10 Clean Male
Female donkeys 20 Unclean Female
Male donkeys 10 Unclean Male
Printed numeral total 550 490 clean + 60 unclean 490 female + 60 male

The camel young are mentioned without a number and are excluded from this printed-numeral total. Female/clean and male/unclean are not equivalent categories: the same totals arise from two different partitions.

The female source-order running totals are 200 → 400 → 430 → 470 → 490. File 58 compares the latter values with several chronological spans. Those comparisons use different starting points and, for the 490 comparison, a localized LXX setting; they must not be presented as one fixed-anchor MT walk. The source’s male-first and unclean-framing sequences are explicitly reordered readings and remain available in §§13.3–13.4.

F. The Genesis 46 household

Genesis 46 maternal household subtotals
Maternal block Printed subtotal
Leah 33
Zilpah 16
Rachel 14
Bilhah 7
Total 70

Principal-wife/handmaid pairs: (33 + 16) + (14 + 7) = 49 + 21 = 70. Outer/inner pairs: (33 + 7) + (16 + 14) = 40 + 30 = 70.

These are the explicit verse-level subtotals in Genesis 46:15, 18, 22, and 25. They are used without reconstructing unstated persons to repair the internal name enumeration. The 66 in verse 26 describes a different entrant count; the 70 in verse 27 is the house of Jacob in Egypt. The LXX/Acts 75 is a separate textual-tradition reading and is not imported into this MT calculation. Further chronological projections of the household numbers are reserved as speculative studies in File 58 Appendix D.

G. Jubilees and the 273 + 7 completion

Jubilees 273 + 7 structures
Jubilees comparison Components Total
Isaac’s conception → birth, 364-day calendar Three quarters × 91 days 273 days
Birth → eighth-day circumcision Seven elapsed days; birth is day one 7 days
Conception → circumcision 273 + 7 280 days
Daily burnt offerings at Abraham’s Tabernacles 2 oxen + 2 rams + 7 sheep 11 animals
Daily thank offerings 7 rams + 7 kids + 7 sheep + 7 goats 28 animals
Seven-day burnt/thank total (11 + 28) × 7 273 animals
Daily sin-offering goats 1 × 7 7 animals
Complete seven-day festival total 273 + 7 280 animals

The dates and offerings are in Jubilees 16:12–14, 22–23; the seven-day feast is described in 16:20. The comparison is a structural reading of the chapter, not proof that every animal count encodes time. File 20 accepts this festival micro-calendar while rejecting the transmitted post-Abraham jubilee macro-timestamps as ordinary chronology. No BC dates are derived here from those rejected AM timestamps.

Jubilees 7:2–3 has a separate first-month New Moon offering: 1 ox + 1 ram + 7 sheep + 1 goat = 10. Its resemblance to the Numbers eighth-day form concerns the animals, not the festival’s date.

For Numbers, 280 − 10 = 270 before the eighth-day festival additions. The regular daily lambs for Tishri 22 are still counted in 270. Regrouping that festival set as three non-lamb animals plus seven lambs gives 270 + 3 + 7 = 280. It is not a strict subtotal through day 21, which would be 268.

H. Localized LXX and SP/215 comparisons

All dates below are BC. LXX-local identifies the localized −33 interpretation, not the whole native Septuagint chronology. The table uses the Jacob subset of File 04’s controlled local corridor. The Septuagint’s earlier patriarchal values and second Cainan are separate settings.

Jacob dates in three declared settings
Jacob event MT: 430 in Egypt LXX-local: 33 + 397 SP/215: 215 in Egypt
Birth 2006 1973 1791
Bethel / departure 1929 1896 1714
Return from Haran 1909 1876 1694
Egypt entry 1876 1843 1661
Death 1859 1826 1644

MT to LXX-local is 33; LXX-local to SP/215 is 182; MT to SP/215 is 215. The equality of 182 with the feast subtotal is a numerical comparison, not proof of the history of textual transmission.

The localized LXX parallels are 1896 − 606 = 1,290, 1876 − 586 = 1,290, and 1826 − 536 = 1,290. A further Conquest comparison is 1896 − 1406 = 490. The first seven years of Jacob’s work end at 1889: 1889 − 1406 = 483, followed by seven years to 1399, completing 490. The 1889 work boundary is not Jacob’s arrival in Haran and does not settle a marriage date by itself.

I. Forty jubilees and the civil endpoint

The full count gives 280 × 7 = 1,960 = 40 × 49. Using ordinary civil years, with no year zero:

Ordinary civil endpoint calculations
Span Calculation Years
1929 BC → AD 32 1929 + 32 − 1 1,960
1929 BC → 536 BC 1929 − 536 1,393
536 BC → AD 32 536 + 32 − 1 567

File 58’s restoration-order grouping puts the eighth day and Sukkot first: 70 + 1,323 = 1,393. The remaining scaled blocks are 70 + 70 + 77 + 42 + 308 = 567. The total is unchanged, but this arrangement is declared reordering, not Numbers’ printed sequence.

The source’s AD 31t/32n and subsequent AD 32t Johannine identifications remain proposals dependent on a separate feast/phase reconstruction. They are not proved by the civil subtraction. John 7 supplies the Tabernacles setting and living-water invitation; it does not supply the year AD 32. This study does not alter the separate repository Passion-date settings or establish an interpretation of John 8’s “not yet fifty” saying.

J. A separate cumulative comparison

Cumulative chronology adds complete ancestral lifespans. It is a calculation method, not another biblical manuscript tradition, and its stations are not ordinary birth dates.

File 58 retains a half-1,274 comparison in the Aaron/Tishri cumulative branch:

2083.5 BC → 1446.5 BC = 637 = 13 × 49; 2 × 637 = 1,274.

The separate Moses/Nisan branch gives 2080 − 1446 = 634. Combining one branch’s Jacob station with another branch’s Exodus coordinate would conceal the distinction. Older whole-year shorthand such as Levi 1936 must not replace the current exact 1936.5 station without declaring its display convention.

For the method and foundational tables, see Cumulative Biblical Chronology and its technical appendix. Canonical controls: File 58 §15.4; File 18 §6A; File 22 §3.3.

The tables establish the counts and arithmetic under their declared settings. Whether the relationships reflect deliberate composition is a further historical and theological argument. No numerical probability is assigned without a defined sampling model.
